DISCOVER HOW TO TRANSFIX YOUR READERS IN THE ONRUSHING HEADLIGHTS OF YOUR EXCITING ARTICLE TITLE
You probably already know this but writing articles is all about taking bite-size chunks. If you take your time and approach your task in an organized fashion, you can do it very easily; but it would be time wasted without a phenomenal article title.
Hewing out an article title does require some elbow grease, some time, some energy, and some focus. In fact, many seasoned article writers spend more time crafting the article title, than the article content.
Here’s the truth, when you whittle away at an article title, little by little you’re getting valuable practice. And practice makes you perfect. Well, at least its supposed to make you better.
Just think about it, you dont need great writing skills, but it helps. You dont need to be the most creative writer around, but that helps too! After you read this short article, you’ll be amazed that we looked at one thing and one thing only, the title!
Obviously, you’ve already picked your topic. No, you haven’t? Well eat lunch on your head. Okay I’ll give you one, Cancer. Too broad? Whats the problem, you didn’t have one! Okay, lets drill down a bit deeper then. How about Prostate Cancer? Yes? Thats our topic then, Prostate Cancer. Lets narrow things a little bit more. We’ll discuss the Early Signs of Prostate Cancer.
Now, our article title. Don’t miss a word of this, it must be a humdinger! The title needs to reach out and grab your visitor by the short and curly. Dont you dare ask me what that is? Your wonderful visitors will most certainly not read your article if your title is, Early Stages of Prostate Cancer.
Turn off your cell phone and listen to what I am about to say! They will gloss right over that title while sipping their coffee. It sounds like the title of a wannabe medical journal. That title is unfair! It doesnt do any justice to the great content you’ll pack inside your article. The article content is Prime T-Bone, but the article title is yard bird.
How about, and I love those question titles, “Did Your Husband Show Early Signs of Prostate Cancer Yesterday?” I’m getting excited! You talk about grab by the short and curly? This is what the short and curly is; you’ll know what I mean when yours is grabbed. I bet every woman with a husband will stop and read your complete article, whether she loves him or not! That title is white hot!
Notice how the article title has more than done its job? It’s designed to make her think, “what do I know about the early signs of Prostate Cancer? I dont even know the signs of Prostate Cancer, let alone the early signs! Let me read this article so Ill know what to look for.”
In a fraction of a second, she muses, “What did he do yesterday that was odd?” Look what that one word at the end of the title has done! Yesterday!
She continues for the next nanosecond, “what are the early signs? Do I need to go to the bathroom with him and look over his shoulder while he does his thing? Even if I could, what early signs am I looking for?”
Can you see what I mean? The title has grabbed her by the short and curly. Not only has the article title grabbed her, he is caught in the on-rushing article headlights too! They’re both in a tailspin.
Your article title must smack your visitor right between the eyes. Craft it in such a way that it makes them spill their morning coffee.
